Water, Irrigation and Energy Division of Lihiket Design and Supervision Corporation was established dating back 16 years; in 2009 GC, named as ‘Irrigation and Drainage Work Process’. It was one of the major departments forming the then Amhara Design and Supervision Works Enterprise. Coming across sixteen years of work experience, the department has successfully accomplished 435 small to large scale irrigation & drainage projects, 510 water supply and sanitation projects and 63 land use planning & environmental impact assessment projects. From the total of 1008 consulting projects 290 projects are construction supervision and contract administration projects, the remaining 718 projects are study and design projects.
In Feb 2023, the former Irrigation and drainage work process has been upgraded to Water, Irrigation and Energy Division (WIED) following the formation of Lihiket Design and Supervision Corporation with the combination of the then Amhara Design & Supervision Works Enterprise and Amhara Road & Building Design and Supervision Works Enterprise. WIED has two Directorates and Six teams to conduct Study, Design, Construction Supervision and Contract Administration Works of Water Resources Projects for both governmental and private customers in country and abroad. WIED is empowered with 130 experienced senior engineers and experts to offer standard consulting services in Water, Irrigation and Energy sector using the up-to-date methods and technologies to the highest satisfaction level of our customers.
