Geotechnical Study or Investigation Services.
Lihiket Design and Supervision Corporation (LDSC) incorporate separate study team (in its organizational structure) in the field of geotechnical study and engineering. With full responsibilities and accountability the team’s engineers perform ground geological and geotechnical investigations following the latest state of the art and international standards. The investigation services will be given for various types and scale of projects in the civil and hydraulic engineering construction sectors like buildings, transport infrastructures (roads, highways, bridges, etc…), storage dams, river diversions, tunnels, powerhouses etc. In the process of engineering design of these mentioned projects the geotechnical investigation provides surface and subsurface ground geologic data for safe and economical foundation design. In addition to this suitable and nearby natural construction materials’ potential source areas (quarries and borrow areas) will be identified, characterized, and evaluated for their quality and quantity.
To achieve the two basic geotechnical services (Foundation and Material Investigations) the following standard investigation methods will be implemented:-
- Archive/ Previous Works Collection and Evaluation
- Surface Engineering Geological and Structural Mapping,
- Engineering Geophysical Survey (Like Electrical Resistivity and Profiling/Imaging, and Magnetic Method, etc)
- Subsurface Exploration Techniques (Test Pits, Trenches, Auguring, Boreholes, etc.)
- Field/In-Situ Foundation Strength and Permeability Testing
- Sampling of Soil/Rock for Laboratory Testing
- Technical Report, Map and Geological Section Preparation
