River Basin & Watershed Management

The River Basins and watersheds faces immense challenges, including water quality degradation due to agricultural runoff and soil erosion, increased flooding threatening communities, ineffective management of natural resources, over-extraction of water resources and declining biodiversity. The available resources are not clearly known. Lihiket Design and Supervision Corporation, with extensive experience in river basin and watershed management, proposes a comprehensive study and possesses extensive experience in conducting river basin and watershed management studies, with a team of qualified professionals in agriculture, hydrology, ecology, social sciences, and engineering. The study assess the current state of river basins through field studies, remote sensing, and stakeholder consultations; identify key threats and vulnerabilities, including land use changes, infrastructure limitations, and institutional weaknesses; develop a sustainable management plan including improved agricultural practices, soil conservation measures, and infrastructure development; engage stakeholders, build community capacity, and promote collaboration for long-term implementation; and estimate water resources availability for informed decision-making. This could be achieved through literature review, field studies and measurements, GIS and remote sensing, social surveys, economic analysis and modeling approaches. A comprehensive report on the state of the river basin/watershed, basin master plan and watershed management plan, recommendations for sustainable management practices, community engagement and capacity-building initiatives and policy recommendations are expected outcomes.
